Following Greece's staging of its very first National Skills Competition, which was held in Athens in May this year, the winners of three competitions have been selected by WorldSkills Greece to represent their country at next month’s EuroSkills Competition in Gdańsk, Poland.

Giorgos Tzafa (Electrical Installations), Dimitrios Michailidis (Web Development), and Vasileios Giouroukos (Automobile Technology) comprise Greece's first national team to participate in a EuroSkills Competition. All three Competitors are now in the final stages of their intense training and preparation, and are looking forward to showcasing their skills alongside a total of 600 young professionals from 32 countries.

WorldSkills Europe approved Greece’s application to become a Member country in September 2022, which paved the way for Greece to participate in EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 and future EuroSkills Competitions and related activities.

WorldSkills Greece’s participation in EuroSkills is organised by the General Secretariat for Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning and Youth, which is part of the Greek government’s Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, and is supported by the Bodossaki Foundation.

The Official Delegate of WorldSkills Greece is Dr. Georgios Voutsinos, Secretary General for Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning and Youth, Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. The Technical Delegate of WorldSkills Greece is Ms. Vassiliki Boltsi, Employee for European and International Affairs at the General Secretariat for Vocational Education and Training, Lifelong Learning & Youth, Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.
