Slovenia stages eighth National Skills Competition
The eighth edition of Slovenia’s largest professional skills competition - SloveniaSkills 2024 – was staged as part of the MOS International Trade Fair, in the city of Celje, from 18 to 22 September 2024.
SloveniaSkills 2024 welcomed 80 of the most talented young students from across Slovenia, who competed to become national champions in 13 skill competitions.
Skills featured included: Architectural Stonemasonry, Cabinetmaking, Carpentry, Cooking, CNC Milling, Floristry, Hairdressing, ICT, Mechatronics, Painting and Decorating, Restaurant Service, Visual Merchandising, and Web Development.
For the first time, the event also featured a demonstration of the skill Robot Systems Integration, which will be introduced as an official skill at the SloveniaSkills Competition in 2026.
SloveniaSkills 2024 concluded with a Closing Ceremony on 22 September, where medals were presented to the highest scoring Competitors.
The medalists at the Competition now have the opportunity to represent Slovenia on the European stage at EuroSkills Herning 2025, which is scheduled for 9 to 13 September 2025, in the city of Herning in Denmark.
SloveniaSkills 2024 and accompanying activities are carried out within the framework of the project "Encouraging excellence in vocational and professional education and promotional activities", which is co-funded by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Slovenia, and the European Union - NextGenerationEU.
