With only 100 days to go, anticipation builds for EuroSkills Herning 2025, set to be the largest and most ambitious skills competition in European history.

The countdown is officially on. Only 100 days remain until the start of EuroSkills Herning 2025, the ninth edition of the European Championship of Young Professionals, and the largest ever EuroSkills Competition.

From 9–13 September 2025, the city of Herning in Denmark will host Europe’s biggest vocational education and skills excellence event, bringing together around 600 talented young professionals under the age of 25, representing 33 WorldSkills Europe Member Countries, to compete for the title of Best in Europe in their chosen skill.

Organised by WorldSkills Europe in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Education of Denmark, Herning Municipality, the Central Jutland Region, WorldSkills Denmark, and key national employer and labour organisations, EuroSkills Herning 2025 promises to be the most ambitious and forward-looking edition of the Competition to date.

A Competition Like No Other

Held at the expansive MCH Messecenter Herning, covering 110,000 square metres, the event will feature 38 official skill competitions across a wide spectrum of industries, including construction, manufacturing, ICT, fashion, hospitality, and more. In addition, the host country will showcase one Host Presentation Skill, Concrete Construction.

Over the course of three competition days (10–12 September), the Competitors will demonstrate their professional abilities and problem-solving skills through complex, real-world challenges, in front of tens of thousands of visitors, including school students, teachers, government officials, employers, and the general public.

This year’s Competition will also offer a wide range of ‘Try-a-Skill’ activities, giving visitors – especially school-aged young people – the opportunity to get hands-on with practical skills and learn about exciting career pathways in vocational education and training (VET).

Skilled for a Greener Future

The theme of EuroSkills Herning 2025 is ‘Skilled for a greener future’. As Europe accelerates efforts to build a more sustainable, climate-resilient future, the role of technical and vocational education and training has never been more critical.

EuroSkills Herning 2025 will shine a light on the essential contribution that skilled young professionals make to our societies, not only in building strong economies and inclusive communities, but also in advancing the green transition through innovation, craftsmanship, and care.

Setting New Records

EuroSkills Herning 2025 will be the largest EuroSkills Competition in history, breaking records in the number of Competitors registered and the scale of the venue. The event is expected to welcome up to 100,000 visitors, making it a celebration of skills on an unprecedented scale.

In addition to the Competition, visitors can look forward to a spectacular Opening Ceremony on 9 September, as well as the Closing Ceremony on 13 September, where medals, including Gold, Silver, Bronze, Best of Nation, and the prestigious Jos de Goey Best in Europe Award will be awarded to the most outstanding Competitors.
